The Taree SES Unit, which is located along Muldoon Street in Taree, will be open at 12pm today with sand available to prepare residents homes.
“In preparation for the expected rain event our unit had sand delivered yesterday,” detailed a post on the Taree City SES Unit Facebook page.
“If anyone would like to come fill sand bags and prepare their homes to make them safer please come into Taree City unit and see us.”
For Manning Point residents the SES had a truck load of sand delivered near the boat ramp yesterday.
“Weroona caravan park has empty sandbags available, without cost to you.”
Taree SES have warned residents to not enter floor waters. If a situation becomes life threatening they suggest you call 000.
“We appreciate that it may be a difficult time ahead and we need the communities understanding that our unit has limited human resources.”
“We are providing the sand and sandbags so that we may attend to more critical issues that may arise across our area.”
For emergency assistance in flood and storm call NSWSES on 132 500.
