The Dolphins led 18-4 with just minutes left on the clock when the Stars scored a consolation try.
Coach Scott Jacklin said the team’s high completion rate was the most pleasing aspect of the win. He added that the Dolphins were able to keep pressure on the Stars through a smart kicking game from Holli Wheeler.
Jenna Rowsell was the star for the Dolphins. She made four clean breaks, two of which led to tries and was a constant source of annoyance to the defence.
Ash Alcorn and Brooke Murray were others to stand out.
The Dolphins now play Central Coast at Wollongong in the final from 11am on Saturday.
