Service general manager, Richard Jones, said people around the Taree and Mid North Coast region had complained about an identified person who was seeking donations.
“Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service does not believe in or practice door-knock fund raising,” he said.
“We understand that the persons involved are not wearing identification but the message conveyed is sufficiently generalised to lead some people to think he is collecting for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.”
