Members enjoyed a fabulous day together at the Killabakh Hall where the committee and many others joined to cook and enjoy a beautiful gourmet birthday lunch, including a very special celebratory cake.
Many memories were revisited when a slide presentation, put together by Ray Mears, was viewed. Photos from the inaugural meeting through to the present were included.
Plenty of hidden talent was also on display in the form of singing by the club’s singing group led by Alan Hughston, a stirring solo by Graham Lewis, jazz and blues from Keith Bedggood.
Eric Richardson gave a moving recital, and Phil Nelson, one of our newer members, gave an extremely humorous rendition of ‘Clancy AT the Overflow’ (with apologies to Banjo Patterson).
Eric Penfold represented Probus South Pacific and spoke of the wonderful fellowship and camaraderie which is always evident when he visits our club.
At the same time that our club celebrates its 20th anniversary, Probus in Australia celebrates its 40th year in 2016.
Wingham Probus Club is happy to report that in the last few years numbers have steadily increased and we now have 82 members.
