"The auditions went extremely well," Ariana Shneider said.
"I have been able to cast all the major roles as well as having a strong ensemble group of young children, teenagers and adults. The calibre of the members is fabulous.
"I only need two more teenage boys and the casting will be complete.
"Everyone has received their scripts so we'll be ready to begin our first play reading at the Taree Arts Council Shed on May 29, followed by the full cast rehearsal on June 2."
Crystal Dreaming is based on the Telos book series.
It is the story of a young, physically gifted, idealistic girl (Mirabelle), a child of the cosmos, who, through a series of personal trials and a growing awareness, is called to act as a bridge between the world of the third dimension (Earth) and the world of the fifth dimension (Telos).
She succeeds because of her willingness to accept the invitation to enter the portals of the dazzling, mystical Telos, crystal city of light.
Ariana said her motivation to write Crystal Dreaming was to create an uplifting piece of theatre for children, and children at heart.
The stylised concert performance will be staged in October.
