WHEN it comes to polluting our environment we should all watch our Ps and Qs and our Ps and Ls, according to the Friends of Browns Creek (Crooked Creek), after the group discovered another source of plastic pollution getting into local drains, creeks and rivers.

Nancy Dixon, a FoBC (CC) member and regular walker, has been amazed by the number of such items littering our streets and drains.
Having observed new drivers picking up these items by the handful at Roads and Maritime Services offices it is no wonder they are becoming a litter problem.
This matter was recently discussed with estuary and marine officers during a visit to the Manning Valley with a view to addressing the issue.
The magnetic type are less of a problem, but with more cars having plastic bumpers these days attachment methods are limited.
"The practice of jamming them in behind the number plate is not suitable and other means of display should be considered such as blu -tac or sticky-tape on the inside of the windscreen," suggests Nancy.
