Janelle started rowing at Taree High School and is a product of the Manning club.
Her coaches here included Phil Walters, Tony Beeton and Howard Croker.
In 2001 Janelle was awarded a NSW Combined High School Sporting Blue for rowing. She now lives in Perth and is a member of the West Australian Rowing Club on the Swan River. Janelle is the current Western Australian lightweight singles champion and recently came fourth in the Australian championship in Perth.
She is one of six lightweight women named in the train-on squad, with four to compete in Rotterdam.
