Alana Carter, now 23, always had a career in the spotlight in her sights.
"I moved to Taree when I was quite young to pursue a career in dancing with Francesca Louise Academy of Performing Arts and Port Macquarie Performing Arts along with singing with Ariana Shneider (Killawarra), acting with Marilyn Connors at Stagemites (Taree) and modelling at the Flair Fashion Awards in Taree with Pam Petherbridge (Sydney)," she said.
Alana was home-schooled which she said allowed her to join many productions in Taree such as Taree Arts Council's Miss Saigon and the Flair Fashion Awards.
"This furthered my career and talent to study full time performing arts in Sydney at Ed5 International."
She currently lives in the heart of Melbourne where she still performs and models on a professional level.
Alana said World Super Model - South Pacific is an amazing competition that has taught her so much and allowed her to express who she is as a model.
"I found out about the World Super Model pageant through a website dedicated to performers across the world.
"I entered thinking there was no way I would ever get in, only to have a phone call three weeks later saying I was being flown to Fiji to compete as part of the top 12 finalists, with my beautiful family's support."
The pageant consisted of many photo shoots including underwater and snorkelling shoots, runway and dance rehearsals, runway shows, interviews, media shoots and interviews with general behaviour and presentation also being judged.
"Winning the crown of World Super Model - South Pacific has opened many opportunities in my career including travelling to South Africa in March 2016, to compete, globally, for a position at Trump Models in New York city.
"To increase my chances in this competition, I maintain my regular exercise program, eat healthy, drink lots of water, get plenty of sleep and take very good care of my body hair and skin and nails."
Now living her dream, she wants to encourage others to chase theirs.
"To any aspiring young women and men, if you have a dream, don't stop believing it until you see it as it will happen with lots of hard work and determination."
