Despite the hot and breezy conditions there were 37 netballers between the age of 10 and 15 who participated in the clinic to improve their skills.
"Everyone was very attentive and listened very well considering the hot weather. The girls took a lot out of the clinic and will look see improvements in each of their games in the future," Taree and District Netball Association registrar Vanessa Hogan said.
"Susan and Abbey ran drills for the girls that improved their basic netball skills, such as passing and catching. Following the clinic they signed autographs."
The clinic will not be an annual event as it was Pettitt who asked the association if she could come to Taree to run the event. However, there is hope that in the future the former Australian Diamond player will return to the area to continue the development of local netballers.
Pettitt has been running these clinics for 10 years throughout NSW, coaching more than 10,000 children the skills needed for netball in that time.
The clinics are designed to encourage the kids to participate, enjoy their netball and inspire them to work hard.
The local netball competition begins on April 2. Registrations are already open online at tareedistrictna.nsw.netball.com.au.
