MUSICAL instruments, flamboyant dance moves and Grandpa socks might not be the most typical collection of things you'd find on a golf course.

Scratch that, you'd most definitely see Grandpa socks on a golf course, but not usually on six teenage boys.
Manning Valley six-piece SOAR have released their first music video for single 'Fifty One Cards'. The video was filmed on Wingham Golf Course and directed by former Taree High School captain Tom Fletcher.
The video features the boys in eighties inspired golf clothing playing instruments as well as golf on the course, with lots of dancing throughout. The high energy performance and rapid zooms and scene changes reflects the upbeat nature of the song.
SOAR is made up Taree High School year 10 students Banjo Hunt on vocals and trumpet, Jordan Terry on drums, Ben Stevens on guitar, Cam Le Messurier on keyboard, Sampson Hillyard on bass, and Josh Clarke on guitar.
The decision to film a music video was made as the band had wanted to release their first professionally recorded single in a way that brought "hype" to the song.
This "hype" was most definitely received, with the preview snippet of the video released on their Facebook page reaching 17,342 views.
When the music video was released on Monday December 7 at 5pm, the video clocked up 3900 views on Facebook in less than 24 hours.
The release of the song has been months in the making with SOAR being given an opportunity to professionally record 51 Cards in September as a result of winning the Regional Award at the annual Youth Rock competition in Sydney in April.
In September SOAR went to Central Coast based and INXS built studios 'Grove Studios' to record.
The studio has hosted a variety of Australian acts including Delta Goodrem, Eskimo Joe, Silverchair, the Whitlams and INXS.
"It was a very surreal experience," said SOAR guitarist Ben Stevens.
The boys experienced the long days of recording with their time in the studio starting at 9am and finishing at 11pm.
The day was made all the more testing when the pizza delivery man failed to show up until very late at night.
Recording is something the band would like to do more of in the future, however for now they really enjoy playing live.
This year SOAR has played at Wingham Akoostik Festival, EnviroFair, the Martin Bridge 75th Anniversary and the recent Night Bazaar.
The official launch of the band's single 'Fifty One Cards' will take place early next year.
