Peter is currently touring to promote the highly anticipated ninth book in his hugely popular Frontier series. Beneath a Rising Sun is set during World War II and continues the story of the Duffy and Macintosh clans. In the tradition of great family sagas, the next generation faces the challenges of deadly war time missions, impossible choices and an inescapable family legacy.
Peter describes his novels as historically based adventure novels which put a human face on Australian history.
He is the author of more than 15 books including the popular Papua Trilogy, The Silent Frontier and The Frozen Circle. Peter's books cover the little known aspects of Australia's involvement in historical events including the Maori Wars and fighting on the Russian Front in World War I.
"This visit is a wonderful opportunity for local book lovers to meet one of Australia's great storytellers," said Debbie Horgan, Community Outreach Librarian. "Peter brings history to life by creating characters we can all relate to and placing them in real historical settings. An evening with Peter Watt is guaranteed to be lively and interesting!"
Peter Watt will visit Taree Library on Tuesday, November 24 from 5.30pm for 6pm start. Cost is $5 per person which includes refreshments and bookings are essential. You can book by emailing library.events@gtcc.nsw.gov.au or phoning 6592 5290.
