"It will be a concert with variety," says Club Taree Community Concert Band's publicity officer Terry Stanton.
Terry is speaking on the upcoming concert on November 14, from 7pm at the Salvation Army Church, Manning Street, Taree.
The free concert is a special collaboration between the Club Taree Community Concert Band and the Australian Army Band Newcastle.
The Club Taree Community Concert Band will be directed by bandmaster Alan Yates, and the Newcastle band will play under the baton of Captain David Thompson.
According to Terry this is a fantastic opportunity for the concert band.
"They [the Australian Army Band Newcastle] are marvellous musicians," said Terry.
"We will learn a lot from them."
Prior to the concert, a workshop will be taking place between the two bands, where Terry believes the concert band will be taught a range of tips and tricks in perfecting their sound.
"You never fail to learn in music," he said.
"We will learn things we either don't know or haven't seen or heard before.
"Even if you just learn one thing it can stay with you the rest of your musical life."
On the night of the concert each band will play for thirty minutes and then the two bands will combine to play together for 30 minutes.
Some of the "tremendous" variety of music the audience will be treated to includes a Lion King medley, Pirates of the Caribbean medley, Herb Alpert Tijuana Brass medley, Invercargill march, Semper Fidelis march, Bohemian Rhapsody, pop music, a swing area medley and more.
A light supper will be provided after the concert.
There will be a collection and all money raised for the concert will go to the Pink Ribbon Cancer Campaign.
