Kiara was determined to address the local issue of dogs in need.
From her research she discovered that there has been not one dog put down in the Taree pound for many months.
"This is all thanks to the generous work of the local animal rescue groups and their volunteer carers," Kiara said. "The rescue groups step in to get dogs rehomed, and that gets expensive with vet bills and food costs."
Kiara had so many ideas to help out these carers, which did not work out, but the final result was to help them with their expensive food costs.
Kiara's idea is for people to take the time to buy at a low cost of $2.50, a bag of bones from their local butcher and deliver them to Manning Valley Animal Rescue at 473 Old Bar Road, Taree or to Willow Animal Rescue at 1- 10 Bluehaven Drive, Old Bar.
If you will like to help dogs in need, send an email to info@aboutinclusion.com.au and a poster will be provided for you to display at your local butcher.
Youth Frontiers is a State government mentoring initiative engaging young people in their wider communities and building up their confidence.
The program is delivered by program manager Mel Hanger.
This Thursday, November 5 a showcase of all local participants will be held at Club Taree from 4.30pm.
