"The whole show came together really well," said president of the Manning River Art and Horticultural Society Milton Johnston.
Milton said the horse events were quite outstanding, and sideshow alley was extremely good this year.
There was always constant big crowds for the animal nursery and reptile shows, and other entertainment like the stilt walkers and puppet show are already booked to come back next year.
"The fireworks were also excellent - as always," said Milton.
At 2.30pm on the Saturday of the show the grand parade began with the opening address from Bruce Moy, and the sashing of the 50th Taree Showgirl.
The three entrants Kate Greenaway, Jessi Wainwright and Laura Polson, sat alongside the 2014 Taree Showgirl Kimberly Harriden, Showgirl judges Bruce Moy and Fae Grifftis, Showgirl co-ordinator Valerie Weller and her husband Selwyn, and other local politicians and dignitaries.
The winner Laura Polson was announced by Milton Johnston.
Laura took to the microphone, and delivered a speech thanking sponsors and also the community for coming and supporting the show.
"I endeavour to represent our community to the best of my ability at zone in Grafton early next year," said Laura.
Laura is the fourth family member to have won the title of Taree Showgirl with her great-aunty Linda Moran (nee Polson), the third ever Taree Showgirl.
Laura dedicated her win to her late grandfather and dairy farmer Dallas Polson.
Following Laura's speech the four girls then sat in the back of a old Holden car each, where they did a lap of the ring.
Following the grand parade there was a timing issue that Milton says will be addressed for future shows.
"The lawn mowers came out before the horses were out of the ring," explained Milton.
This caused dust that agitated mounted riders and horses, however Milton says from now on no motorised vehicles will be allowed to start before horses have finished and are safely away from the ring.
Champion show results will be published in the Manning River Times on Friday, October 16.
