TAREE man Wayne Edward Archer has been jailed for a total of 26 years following the murder of Anne Marie Pearson, 49, and wounding of Natasha Lee Mason, 39, at Stevenson Street in Taree on September 21, 2014.

Justice Helen Wilson of the Supreme Court sat at a special sitting at Taree Courthouse on Thursday (October 8) to hand down her decision.
The 54-year-old faced three charges: murder, wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic).
On the murder charge, Archer was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 24 years to commence on January 21, 2017 and expire on January 20, 2041 with a non-parole period of 18 years.
He will first be eligible for parole on January 20, 2035.
For the charge of wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm he was sentenced to eight years, to commence on January 21, 2016 and expire on January 20, 2024 with a non-parole period of six years.
For contravening the prohibition/ restriction in AVO (domestic) he was sentenced to 21 months to commence on September 21, 2014 (when he first went into custody) and expire June 20, 2016.
