At its recent annual general meeting, president Brian Crisp advised that the year has been successful once again.
He reported that donations were made to Taree Artists $250, various schools $525 and Taree and District Eisteddfod $3,300.
The institute was once again a major sponsor of the eisteddfod.
The literary institute library continues to grow.
They are always looking for new members and 80 new members joined in the past 12 months - bringing the total membership to 1636.
New books are always being added to the shelves.
This year the library purchased 521 books 181 large print, 11 non-fiction and 329 fiction.
All best sellers are purchased and there is usually something to interest everyone.
The institute also has the Manning River Times each printing, various interest magazines and a large range of DVDs.
The DVDs have proved very popular and there are many different types to choose from.
Mr Crisp expressed his thanks to Mrs Kylie Attard, librarian and Mrs Robyn Lacey, her assistant, for all the work involved in keeping the library moving with the times.
At the election of officers, Mr Crisp remained president, Bob Crossman and Adrian Newbery remained vice presidents, Mrs Suzanne Booth remained secretary, Mrs Kylie Attard remained librarian and treasurer.
The committee consists of Mrs Sandra Saad, Mrs Helen Mitchell, Mrs Janeece Richards, Mr Keith Gibbs, Mr Gary Masters, Mr Dave Rush and Mr Pete Smith.
