The eleventh annual festival, which attracted between 30,000 and 35,000 to Old Bar last year, will once again feature a huge number of Kombis and Beetles, according to festival vice-president Erin Byrne.
New attractions will include a petting zoo, camel rides and street performers. They are part of a packed schedule which will kick off today, Saturday October 3 with a mega market starting at 8am.
Live music throughout the two day event will come from both local performers and bands from across Australia, including Matt Zarb, the Urban Chiefs, Joey Equine and the Glue Factory, Ghost Road and many more.
The Saturday schedule will include the official opening ceremony, the classic car and Kombi display and parade, and the Jolly Pirates children's show. At night there will be a Leukaemia Foundation 'light the night' lantern walk, as well as the always popular fireworks spectacular.
Sunday's schedule includes the 5km fun run and Kombi awards presentation, with both events requiring registration that day.
Throughout both days there will a variety of food stalls and coffee vans and over 120 market stalls for visitors to browse.
The festival provides a huge economic boost for the area too, with money raised is distributed back into the community.
Erin is confident that the popularity of the festival will continue to grow and hopes this year will surpass 2014's huge crowd.
"Every year it seems to get bigger," she said.
Erin agreed that the varied and busy schedule meant there was something for everyone attending the festival.
