It was losses all round for The Lite Times team in the first weigh-in for the Biggest Winner - Ultimate Thinner (BWUT) challenge.
Combined we lost a decent 3.6kg between us, which is a great start for what will be an interesting 12-week journey.
Everyone seems to be doing well with plans by some to work even harder this week to help boost the losses even further.
While I experienced a calorie overload on the weekend (I'll count it as my cheat meal for the week because I believe I've been good otherwise), I was back into it this morning for my early morning workout.
To celebrate our achievements, we thought it might be a nice idea to introduce our team and talk about our motivations.

What is your role at MRT? Journalist
What was your reason for getting involved in the challenge? To lose some of the baby weight from my two pregnancies and to feel fit and healthy again.
What is your goal for the 12 weeks? I'd love to drop eight kilos, create a more active lifestyle for myself and my family and generally just feel better about myself.
Can you please outline some of the changes you've made to your lifestyle to help reach this goal? I'm getting up early each weekday morning for some light exercise to get my metabolism going, and taking part in three organised group classes during the week. Food-wise I'm making better choices about what I'm eating. I'm not drinking a hot chocolate every day

What is your role at MRT? Editor
What was your reason for getting involved in the challenge? To get fit and focus on my health
What is your goal for the 12 weeks? Five kilos off (happy with four) but increased energy
Can you please outline some of the changes you've made to your lifestyle to help reach this goal? I was off to a good start with two days hiking in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park (about 20kms) the first weekend. Through the week I followed up with some yoga most evenings and my weekly yoga class, a walk around the block daily and I cut back on the potato chips and wine. The result was 900 grams lost.
Name: Colleen Mackie
What is your role at MRT? Sub-editor (ie sitting in front of a computer and swearing a lot)
What was your reason for getting involved in the challenge? Tired of seeing my matronly bum in the mirror in the morning and hoping the alleged endorphins from exercise will result in reduced swearing at work.|
What is your goal for the 12 weeks? I want to look less like the Queen Mary and more like Princess Mary.
Can you please outline some of the changes you've made to your lifestyle to help reach this goal? Have cut out two major food groups (ie white wine and the fundraiser choccies) and have increased the exercise quotient. Latter has been impeded by right foot collapsing under a huge weight (me).
Name: John Bulmer
What is your role at MRT? Manager
What was your reason for getting involved in the challenge? To challenge myself to get back into a sound fitness regime (and have fun at the same time) and raise money for a worthwhile cause
What is your goal for the 12 weeks? To drop at least 4kgs
Can you please outline some of the changes you've made to your lifestyle to help reach this goal? Trying to hit the gym at least four times a week for a mix of cardio and weights sessions and EAT BETTER!
