Why do you do it? It's a question the amateur mountaineers in  Baltasar Kormakur's spectacular film Everest ask each other at base camp over drinks. They laugh it off because they all know there is no real answer – at least not one that can be put into words. "Why climb it? Because it's there!" they laugh.
