The report said two men were in a 15 foot boat hauling up a fishing net, when the shark first attacked the catch, then turned its attention to the boat.
The men escaped unharmed but the boat was sent to Tuncurry for repairs, the report said.
Black Head Surf Club official Terry Aldridge told Times reporter Mick McDonald today (Friday, September 4, 2015) he understood this is the first recorded shark attack at Black Head Beach in the surf club's 90 year history.
