Bayliss hit a wall when contesting the final of the pro 450 and finished with a broken collarbone along with injuries to a finger and his back.
"It's the same collarbone he broke here earlier in the year when he hit the same wall,'' Mr Nelson said.
"I spoke to him on Monday morning and he's pretty sore. And he's missed his trip to America as well.''
Bayliss is due to undergo surgery today. He has since said he expects to be back on his bike in six weeks.
Bayliss was to fly to America on Monday to contest the AMA series. His son, Ollie, was going with him.
Bayliss had endured a tough year with injuries, breaking his leg in America when racing before breaking the collarbone at a practice session at the Old Bar track with Ollie.
However, Mr Nelson is confident Bayliss will be keen to race at the classic.
The injury to Bayliss aside, Mr Nelson rated the championship as an outstanding success.
"We expected to get some great racing and we weren't disappointed,'' he said.
Luke Richards from Singleton was the most successful individual competitor, winning the pro open, the MX open and the pro 250. The pro 450 when to Robbie Menzies-Sargant from Brisbane, who has been working closely with Bayliss this year.
Mr Nelson described the crowd response as as 'okay.'
"We would have had about 1000 to 1200 in total for both days,'' he said.
"We were hoping for more, especially with the weather we had. But there were a lot of other things on.
"But the club will do well enough financially out of the weekend.''
Mr Nelson admits the track was 'a bit rough' by the end of racing on Sunday.
"It did get a lot of heavy traffic over the two days,'' he added.
The club will carry out more stabilisation work on the track leading up to the Bayliss Classic and Mr Nelson predicts it will be in peak condition by then. He added the new PA system was 'fantastic.'
The club won't be applying to stage a national championship next year but Mr Nelson said there are already plans to nominate for 2017.
