A 97-year-old in the Wingham area was defrauded $8000 by two males, according to Manning-Great Lakes Area Command.

Police late last night posted an alert on Facebook about "reports today of two males attending homes in the Wingham area posing as tradesmen offering their services to undertake painting jobs."
"They are targeting elderly victims by asking that they pay prior to the work being undertaken.
"The two males described as being tallish in their 20's and wearing high visibility shirts ask the victims for money to buy the paint taking the money and never returning. In the latest report the 97-year-old victim was defrauded $8000.
"It has been reported that the males are driving a vehicle similar to a white Mitsubishi Triton Ute with Queensland number plates which is towing a painters type trailer with lift up sides which has NSW registration plates.
"Any person who may have been a victim of these two scammers or anyone with any information on their identity please contact Taree Police on 6552 0399 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000."
