Cancer Council's Daffodil Day is a national day for Australians to show they care about beating cancer and an opportunity to contribute to a brighter, cancer-free future.
The annual event provides funds to support vital cancer research, develop cancer prevention programs, advocacy programs and provide patient support (like to Cancer Council Helpline 13 11 20) for the many Australian lives affected by cancer.
In 2015, the Cancer Council hopes to raise $3.2 million in NSW and $9.7 million nationally.
More than 10,000 volunteers are expected to staff over 1200 Daffodil Day sites across Australia.
This includes more than 5000 volunteers staffing more than 600 Daffodil Day sites across NSW.
Daffodil Day is the largest national fundraising event of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
The daffodil is the international symbol of hope for all touched by cancer.
