This Radiothon is hoped to be one of the best yet, with heaps of great prizes and will be the most interactive Radiothon 2BOB has held.
For the first time listeners can not only tune in on the radio, they can make pledges and participate via streaming online as well.
Radiothon is a fun way to support 2BOB and win great prizes including music, meals at local restaurants and some fantastic festival tickets.
"2BOB began broadcasting to the Manning on August 28, 1986 so it is fitting we begin this year's Radiothon on August 28th," said Rob Meaton of 2BOB's Board of Management.
"One week's worth of programming jam-packed into one weekend and so many chances for listeners to support 2BOB and win great prizes."
Major prizes are still to be announced, so stay tuned for more info.
2BOB albums of the week
- Wilco Star Wars
- Kurinji Riz Soundtrack
- Gurramul The Gospel Album
- Sol Nation Melting Pot
Riz is a new Aussie drama about friendship, betrayal and redemption in the multicultural melting pot that is western Sydney.
The music Sydney-based band Kurinji produced for the film is the perfect match for the story.
The band also features the vocal talents of former Manning resident Aime Falzon.
Wilco's new album was a surprise when it popped up unannounced as a free download on their website.
Their first album was released in 1995, evolving from country rock to what Jeff Tweedy describes their modern sound as an "eclectic indie rock collective that touches on many eras and genres."
Free, but worth paying for to fans and newcomers alike.
This is probably their most accessible album to date.
