With 15 years working in human resources in the Western Sydney Local Health District, a stint in real estate, followed by 11 years at the Great Lakes Meals on Wheels, Meredith has all the skills to excel in her new position.
"The village manager position became available at the perfect time as I was looking for a change of scenery and it really accumulates all my work experience in one job," Meredith said.
"My time with Meals on Wheels really cemented my love for working with older Australians in a job where I know I am making a difference in people's lives, and this position will allow me even more involvement.
"Community spirit is very important to me and it's wonderful to see how many residents partake in group activities and meals."
Taree Gardens offers residents a range of activities to enjoy, including day trips for shopping and lunch, morning teas for birthdays and celebrations and future plans for more outdoor activities when the weather begins to warm.
"The older you get, the longer winter seems to last so we're already making plans for outdoor events when spring arrives including barbecue lunches, outdoor games and maybe even a mini olympics."
Taree Gardens is an independent retirement community with 51 units for residents 55 years and over.
