Connor is a Wingham resident who is in year 11 at St Clare's High School. He has represented the Taree Tornadoes in previous seasons in the Northern Junior League.
The CPL competition is the next level up from the Northern Junior League in which Taree participates in so in order to play at this level. Connor joined the Maitland Mustangs and has to travel every week for training to the Hunter
The Tornadoes have had a number of players in the past play with the Mustangs and also their cross town rivals the Newcastle Hunters, in order to further develop their representative basketball careers.
Even though higher representative commitments forces Connor to play for the Maitland side, he is still committed to Taree Basketball by playing in the local competitions on Tuesday's and refereeing the junior basketballers on a Sunday morning.
TAREE Tornadoes nearest basketballing neighbour will be in Taree on Sunday when Gloucester hits Saxby's Stadium for a series of games.
The games will cater for players in the 13 girls, 10 mixed, 13 boys and 16 boys divisions plus open men with action timed to tip off at 12.30pm after the usual Sunday morning domestic competitions for children from kindergarten to year eight.
All teams with the exception of the open men will play two games at the cost of $5 per player per game and this has been done to gain the full benefit of court time for the travelling teams.
Interest has been high in the open men's games and this has allowed Taree to have two different teams, one for players under 25 and the other for the older brigade.
Games will get under way at 12.30pm when the 25 men and 10 mixed teams hit the court and will then be played in 50 minute timeslots until 3.50pm when the 16B and 13B wrap up proceedings.
