“My Place is a key community initiative of Fair Trading and this program in Taree includes an education session for high school students on the Australian Consumer Law and a scam awareness seminar for seniors. Last year more than 55,000 people across NSW participated in Fair Trading education programs,” Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Victor Dominello said.
“It’s a great opportunity to talk with local residents and traders about their rights and obligations under consumer law.”
The Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead said the program included seminars for consumers and traders covering information about real estate agents, motor dealers, home building and self-managing landlords.
“Fair Trading will be conducting trader education visits in Taree to ensure everybody has access to information about their rights and responsibilities,” he said. “I encourage Taree residents to attend the free information sessions across the four days.
“As places are limited I urge anyone interested to visitwww.events.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au or call 13 32 20 to register attendance at public sessions,” he said.
