Port Macquarie, Camden Haven and Forster will be the others. Saltwater will be represented by a team of six, siblings Sarah, Lucy and Mack Green, Banjo Hunt, Jack Jones and Kane Jones and Pat Moses. Shane Cadden and Ben Howard will be among Forster's representatives. Juniors are classified as any surfer aged 18 and under.
The competition will be run over two heats, both lasting an hour. Surfers catch two waves then paddle to shore to tag their mate. All team members must surf in the heat.
Saltwater Boardriders president Joel Reading said the concept is being revived this year. He expects it will now be held annually and added there will be some discussion on Sunday about each clubs having turn hosting the event.
"It's Port's idea, they may want to keep it up there,'' he said.
Meanwhile the club is looking to bolster its junior ranks. Saltwater Boardriders conducts competitions the first Sunday of each month.
