Laura Aiton will bring honey that is sourced from 100 hives on Caffreys Flat on the Nowendoc River to the new market which is located in the grounds of Mentges Master Meats on Kanangra Drive in Taree.
The market is proving to be a successful addition to the calendar of farmer's markets in the Manning Valley with the number of customers and stalls on the ground increasing since it began in early June. It is a spin-off from the popular Wingham Farmer's Market and offers people the opportunity to buy the freshest and best of local produce and food.
Organiser Annette Owen-Mulder says the community response to the market "is amazing" and includes the arrival of a bus carrying residents from a local nursing home.
A new avocado grower from Comboyne will this week sell at the market and Annette says that within the next few weeks a mushroom grower will join the community of sellers.
Market tables feature freshly cut herbs, newly picked navel oranges, lemons and limes, french breakfast radishes, pumpkins and an abundance of salad greens. Produce and products vary from week-to-week and can include various chutney's, relishes and jams, dressings, biscuits and sweet treats, including delicious dried cumquat skins dipped in dark chocolate.
Fermented vegetable enthusiasts can buy from Bottled Culture, cheese lovers can taste the range of Comboyne Culture and learn about how it is made, and delicious Mentges Meats kransky's are available warm in fresh buns for a delicious winter lunch.
Annette says the decision of Wild Fig Cafe to join the market provides people with the opportunity to enjoy a great coffee while browsing the market stalls.
The market operates tomorrow - Thursday July 15 - from 8.30am to 2pm.
