Dr Keegan is vocal and consistent in expressing his concern about infrastructure funding for Manning Hospital.
He took on the issue in the 2015 State election as the Labor candidate for Myall Lakes. He did not take the seat from incumbent member, Stephen Bromhead, but is now working to ensure the infrastructure funding issue remains on the State government's agenda.
"Our local MP thinks you can plan a multi-stage, $80 million development and fund the initial works for $1 million!" Dr Keegan said.
"His grasp of finances, building planning, and issues such as keeping promises was shown up during the recent campaign in March when he refused to attend 'Meet the Candidates' debates and public meetings.
"He couldn't answer the most simple of questions. Now is the time for the communities of Great Lakes, Gloucester and Greater Taree to demand a fair go - funding for the police station, hospital and other assets as promised.
"We lose out whilst areas like Port Macquarie get over 10 times what we receive," Dr Keegan added.
