Meet Kim Vuga from Townsville, who's set to become a star in the latest controversial documentary from SBS.

Vuga is one of six "ordinary Australians" chosen to take part in the third series of Go Back To Where You Came From, which explores the hot button topic of asylum seekers.

The participants "walk in the footsteps of asylum seekers and refugees" in the three-part series in an attempt to challenge their assumptions and attitudes.

However, after 28 days filming in some of the world's refugees hotspots, there appears to have been very little change in Vuga's hardline stance - at least judging by videos posted to YouTube long after the end of filming, and by comments on the Facebook page she administers.

The video shows Vuga and three friends staging a counter-protest "against the loony left" outside the Townsville offices of Federal Member for Herbert, Ewen Jones, on June 5.

Brandishing placards declaring "Refugees suck Aust dry" and "Multicuture (sic) is a failure", the quartet apparently causes a small group of refugee supporters to pack up.

"The lefties couldn't wait to leave," says Vuga happily. "They ran off. It's quite surprising that yet they seemed to be the most vocalist (sic) and the silent majority with valid points and facts can certainly stand our ground."

In a trailer released previously by SBS, Vuga revealed her strong opinions.

"Australia is under attack," she says. "We already have the terrorists here. We are already living amongst the enemy."

The short trailer also hints at clashes to come between Vuga and the other participants, who include a schoolteacher and a former detention centre worker.

Vuga, who also describes herself as a "freelance journalist", administers a Facebook page called "Stop the boat people".

The slogan on the page's profile picture reads: "This is Australia: We eat meat, we drink beer and we speak f**kin' English."

Posts on the page regularly take aim at Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young, who is described as being "wanted for treason", and Human Rights Commission president Gillian Triggs, characterised as a "terrorist sympathiser".

A graphic posted on the page reads: "Immigrants – coming to take your jobs and wives, to destroy your way of life and spoil your kids, to give you diseases and create evil in general. They will do it and everything else as well. Dirty refugees from hell."

Under the graphic it reads: "True story – Kim."
