Leah Toohey and Carol Johnston are two members of the six strong organising committee that has been hard at work contacting past schoolmates.
Leah said they had received a "great response" so far, attributing much of it to "the beauty of Facebook."
"The 20 year reunion was good but numbers wise this time we think it'll be even better," she said.
With past students now living in locations as varied as Japan and the United States, Leah and Carol said that some had already booked flights back for the occasion.
Former world superbike champion Troy Bayliss, a member of the 1985 class, is making plans to return for the reunion.
The night will begin at 6pm for a 6.30pm start, with tickets costing $50 or $80 for a couple, and including food, entertainment and several beverages.
There are also plans for a tour of Chatham High.
Leah and Carol emphasised that former teachers were welcome as well.
"We want to get as many people from our year as possible, it's a great opportunity to connect and reconnect," Carol said.
Those attending should RSVP by the end of August.
