Under the baton of honorary conductor Heide Lambert, and featuring a guest appearance by associate conductor Iain Pole, Sinfonia took audiences on a journey through six decades of war and peace with raw, patriotic and wistfully mournful music made up of swelling choirs, brass band, and melodious strings.
The orchestra was joined by the combined choirs of Kantabile and Company of Voices and also welcomed special guest players who had travelled from as far away as Tamworth and Newcastle to take part in the performances.
One of the many highlights of the series was a solo performance by 16-year old oboist, Lindsay Kaul.
Lindsay is the 2015 recipient of the James Hannah and Sinfonia Music Scholarship, awarded to young local musicians to encourage them to continue their music studies.
The Taree audience saw James Hannah personally present the cheque to Lindsay amidst well-earned applause.
The next series of Sinfonia concerts will be held in November this year.
