"I get to play music every day of the week," he smiles.
"It's all I've ever wanted."
The busy 18-year-old local musician's week often involves a combination of his own live shows, shows with his band featuring Hamish McDonald and Luke Bottomley and performing as a wedding singer. In fact, in looking at Jake's future show dates he has gigs scheduled right up until March of next year.
Now, Jake has broken into Newcastle's music scene, with Newcastle premier music entertainment agency GENR8 entertainment. Jake is increasingly getting bookings and playing live shows in Newcastle venues.
However Jake still frequents local venues, with his favourite being Harrigans Irish Pub in Harrington.
"It was the first venue I ever played," he said.
"They've been supporting me ever since."
Jake is never seen too far from his trusty guitar Taylor, which has accompanied him in all his live shows for years. The guitar is named after Taylor Swift, an inspiration to Jake who he likes to cover in his shows.
"I choose songs that I love, and people love - so they can sing-a-long."
A rewarding musical moment for Jake came when his biggest inspiration American singer Tyler Ward shared Jake's cover of his song 'Forever Starts Tonight' on social media.
The YouTube video of Jake's cover has ticked over to be his most viewed upload with 3619 views. A few years ago Jake's YouTube videos would hit numbers of views around the hundreds, now at least seven videos are in the thousands.
One of his latest uploads is the lyrical video to his original song "Rush".
Jake says he loves sharing new videos and annoucements with people on his social media pages.
"They are so supportive with big news."
