Police have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery of a bakery near Taree yesterday.

Just after 2.30pm, a man entered a bakery on Bent Street, Wingham, about 12km north west of Taree, and purchased a drink from a female shop assistant.
It’s alleged as the employee was taking the payment from the man, he produced a knife and demanded money.
The armed man fled the scene, taking cash.
The employee was uninjured during the incident.
Officers attached to Manning/Great Lakes Local Area Command were notified and commenced investigations.
Following inquiries, about 9.50pm, police attended a home on Summerville Street, Wingham, were an 18-year-old man was arrested.
He was taken to Taree Police Station, where he was charged with robbery whilst armed, and refused bail, to appear at Forster Local Court today.
