The bulk of Taree will be connected throughout April, June, November (Wingham), and December, and the rollout build for Diamond Beach, Black Head, Hallidays Point, Red Head, Tallwoods Village, Nabiac, Koorainghat, Old Bar, Wallabi Point, Harrington, and Crowdy Head will begin from September 2016, with connection types dependent on the size of the areas.
In terms of the success of the rollout so far, the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) said they received 2643 NBN related complaints between July and December last year. They said these were received in the context of an increased rollout of the NBN, and generally concerned delays in new connections, fully unusable services, and missed connection appointments.
The TIO said since they began discussions with NBN Co and a number of retail service providers, they had noticed an improvement in the time it takes to resolve the issues.
