An eight week competition will then start from Friday June 5. All matches will be played on Fridays at the one venue at either Taree, Wingham, Old Bar or Tuncurry.
NRL development officer Kylie Hilder will run the competition and co-ordinate the come and try day.
"We'll take individual nominations or teams,'' Kylie said.
"And it a couple of friends turn up together, we'll make sure they're in the same side.''
Plans to start league tag in the Group Three Junior League were first discussed at last year's annual meeting.
However, Kylie said for this year teams won't go under the banner of the junior league clubs although the players will be affiliated with a club. Uniforms and all gear will be supplied.
Kylie said she had a number of inquires about the competition since it was first mooted and she is confident there's sufficient interest to starting a competition.
"We're playing Fridays to avoid a clash with traditional sports, like hockey and netball,'' she said.
Kylie added that while 12s and 15s are the nominated age divisions, she's flexible about the format.
"If I get a heap of interest from younger girls I'll lower the age division,'' she said.
"I'm in the process of organising to take the registrations on line and that will give me an idea of the ages interested.''
Kylie's hoping to get four to five teams playing in each division.
Referees will be supplied, with Kylie looking for support from players currently involved in the Group Three league tag competition.
The come and try day will start at 5pm. Kylie can be contacted on 0400 345 519 for further details.
