The Safety Truck is a mobile education centre that offers a practical, hands-on experience to the public regarding the trucking industry.
It features entertaining, informative and interactive activities and videos which demonstrate the concepts of blind spots, braking distances and other issues truckers face.
Driver and presenter Glen Schmidtke takes the attending group through a variety of activities, firstly by describing the role of the trucking industry in the local region.
The group is then split into two groups, with one group exploring inside the trailer, with video screens, interactive exhibits and walls graphics all on show.
The second group will have a turn sitting in the prime mover cab, experiencing the visibility and perspective from the driver's seat.
Cars will be placed in blind spots to emphasise the difficulty faced by truckers.
It's just one of many activities that'll be present at the Weekend on Wheels, to be held at Jack Neal Oval on Sunday, May 31.
"Our aim is to deliver a series of linked road safety information sessions, addressing the behaviour and attitudes of our young drivers," Mr Schmidtke said.
"We might only get the safety message through to one or two kids per session, but it's worth it even if you only get through to a couple."
