First came the launch of the bright new MSS logo and brand name, MSS.
Then came a changing of the guard as long serving general manager Robert Cooke retired from the position to move on to new horizons. Ms Tracey Lawson has been appointed general manager and recently commenced duties.
MSS president Mave Richardson commended Robert on his 11 years of dedicated service to the ongoing development of MSS.
"Robert brought a wealth of experience to the position and was tireless in his efforts to create and maintain a high level of quality service delivery," she said. "We wish him every success in his future endeavours."
MSS has a staff of 30 people, supported by a team of nearly 200 volunteers.
MSS provides a broad range of services in Greater Taree, Hastings, Gloucester and Forster. Services include counselling and advisory services for children and families, services for seniors and people with disabilities, respite support, meals delivery, home safety, and recruitment, training and placement of volunteers in the wider community.
New general manager Tracey Lawson has moved to the Manning Valley from northern NSW. She is enthusiastic about the area and is keen to get to know the community.
"MSS stands out as a dynamic and efficient not-for-profit service provider. It is a privilege to be able to work with such a committed and professional group of people," she said.
Tracey has impressive qualifications in social sciences and business management, together with extensive experience in community development, mediation, counselling and organizational management.
"We are delighted to welcome Tracey to the team. Her enthusiasm, knowledge and experience will be of great value as we go forward," president Mave Richardson said.
