The latest flood watch issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, at 8.44am today, reported "The heaviest and most widespread falls will occur in the Mid-North Coast and Northern Rivers districts on Friday and Saturday."
Manning-Great Lakes LAC, urged drivers to stay safe on the road.
"This is a reminder that you should not walk, ride or drive through flood waters."
"Heavy rain overnight recorded around 40mm from 9am yesterday at Taree.
"When travelling on roads in heavy rain motorists are advised to reduce your speed 10-15 kms per hour."
Flood Warnings will be issued if Minor Flood Level is expected to be exceeded at key sites along the main rivers for which the Bureau of Meteorology provides a flood warning service.
o The Bureau of Meterology will issue Flood Warnings along with the State Emergency Service who will release Flood Bulletins to tell you about the situation and what you should do to protect your family and property.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
o Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
o Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
o Keep clear of fallen power lines.
o Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
o Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
o If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
