Kempsey are relative new-comers to the competition but have improved strongly, according to Wildcats coach Ben Sedlen.
"We're expecting a tough game," he said.
The Wildcats trained strongly over the break, with no games played over the Anzac weekend, recording good numbers at training.
One of their training sessions was a joint effort with the Manning River Ratz rugby team.
"It was a joint fitness session, something a bit different which helps break the season up," said Sedlen.
The Wildcats have won one and drawn one so far this season and will hope to record another victory in Kempsey.
Training for the last two weeks has had a focus on defence.
"We've been concentrating on D (defence)," said Sedlen.
"The last two games we've gifted goals to the opposition."
The team will be at full-strength apart from Troy Modderno, who is unavailable due to work commitments.
