Why not come along to one of MidCoast Water's creek critters workshops being held at Krambach on Wednesday April 8 and Gloucester on Friday April 10.
Come along for an adventure, getting your hands wet exploring what lives in our streams.
Nets will be used to catch bugs in the water and you may be surprised by what you find!
"We often think of catching tadpoles, but actually they are more pond critters than creek critters, " education and engagement officer Kirsty Hughes explained.
"It's fascinating to see just how many different things live in our rivers that we never think of, yet they have such an important role in keeping the water clean and providing food for bigger creatures such as fish and platypus. We can also use these bugs to find out how healthy the river is, so they're pretty special."
Kids of all ages can take part for free in this activity at Kings Creek Retreat on Wednesday April 8 and at Gloucester District Park on Friday April 10.
Children need to be accompanied by an adult.
