"Kaleb is the youngest of the four McCubbin children who were educated at Chatham High and represents the end of the McCubbin era," career advisor Neil Locker explained.
"All the McCubbins were excellent students and participated across many areas of our school.
"Kaleb is doing chemical engineering at Newcastle University and gained a $2000 scholarship from the university as our top student.
"He is sharing a flat with his sister Kyani and Jeremy Miller who was our dux two years ago.
"Throughout years seven to 12 Kaleb was consistently at the top of his year and has been interested in becoming an engineer for a long time.
"Chatham High School has a very strong academic tradition and strives to encourage and honour high achievement.
"A full list of former duxes and captains can be found on our school website. There are some very famous people on these lists including Dr Ken Henry," Mr Locker concluded.
