The documentary explores the fight of Tara landholders against the invasion of their community by coal seam gas company QGC and the adverse effects of the gas industry on their health and quality.
One of the key figures in the film, which recently won an award at the Byron Bay Film Festival, is Dayne "The Frackman" Pratzky. After a long fight Dayne has relocated from his 250 acre property in the Tara Estate to the Great Lakes.
Dayne was the guest speaker for a Q&A session after the screening along with Chris Sheed from the Manning Clean Water Action Group and Jenni O'Neill from Groundswell Gloucester.
Dayne Pratzky encouraged the audience to "be prepared to take a stand to protect your drinking water from being contaminated by AGL's Gloucester Gas Project!"
He also encouraged those who could not protest to switch their power supplier to a company which did not have investments in coal seam gas as well as moving their money out of banks and super funds which invest in coal seam gas companies.
"The problem is that the four major banks invest heavily in CSG and coal mining projects and super funds also invest in the major mining companies," Mr Pratzky said.
The event also included a brief introduction to three of the candidates nominating to win the seat of Myall Lakes in the March 28 State election.
Their responses to a questionnaire on CSG and mining were distributed to the audience.
For those who missed out on seeing "Frackman the Movie" a special screening in Forster on Friday, March 27 has been added to the schedule.
