Daisy, 15, had set herself a target of raising $2000 for Lymphoma Australia in support for her nine-year-old cousin Teagan, who is currently battling anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
Teagan has undergone extensive treatment with chemotherapy and blood transfusions over the last year, which inspired Daisy to help raise awareness of the disease.
"All I was thinking about up there was Teagan and how she didn't have a choice (about losing her hair)," said Daisy after the shave.
"I didn't expect all of it (the support), it was really good."
Watching Teagan undergo chemotherapy has guided Daisy to pursue a career in nursing, with studies at TAFE and a traineeship with Hunter New England Health both helping her in this quest.
Daisy promised her younger cousin that she would not be alone with her loss of hair due to treatment, with the two creating the saying, "embrace the baldness."
A previous fundraiser in 2014 raised $712.10 for the foundation, with local businesses donating generously.
Lymphoma is the fifth most common cancer in adults and the third most common in children, with a new case diagnosed every two hours in Australia.
Daisy's efforts led to her raising a grand total of roughly $2100.
Daisy would like to thank Jane Fowler from Medusa Hair for the head shave, and the Taree High SRC and principal Allison Alliston for supporting her cause.
