However, Hollywood already had its sights set on her.
Jodie has been offered a support role in her first American action movie.
Director Del Weston has Jodie playing a federal agent who gets a chance to show off her martial arts skills throughout the film.
“It’s not every day an Australian actor gets an opportunity to be in an American film,” Jodie said.
“I wish I could say it was luck but it is due to endless hard work, training, putting your work out there, going the extra mile and never giving up.”
Jodie Lee met Del Weston at the Action on Film Festival (AOF) in Monrovia, California last August.
This festival was the platform to showcase her film, titled Passion, to many influential directors, writers and distributors.
It is these people who have made contact with Jodie since then to work with her in the future.
“By going to the AOF to personally promote my film, to meet and network with like-minded filmmakers over the 10-day festival, I have now been offered a role in Victims.
“This industry is about putting yourself in the mix of it, showing everybody who you are, what skills you possess why you would be valuable to have in their films”.
Director Del Weston surely has seen something special in Jodie Lee who is off to LA from February 28 to March 23 for shooting. “This is just the beginning, my first step into the American market”.
Jodie knows this is her break into the Hollywood and will keep climbing up from here.
Keep an eye out for Jodie as you might be seeing her grace our cinema screens in the near future.
