Darren Sherry downed Leigh Halloran in three, Darryl Moscatt defeated Alison Haigh in three and in an exciting match Daniel Strybis got over the line 15-12 in the fifth over Mike Cameron.

Three of the top four got through in second division.

Matt Donoghue downed Peter Cubbin in three, Ian Coutts defeated Gloria Smith 3-1 and Trevor Brown downed Wayne Rudd 3-1.

Mitch Brown upset the applecart when, playing from seventh seeding, he played good squash to defeat second seed Gary Smith.

Justin Mather showed why he is the top seed in the second round of Monday night's first division finals when he blitzed Darren Sherry in three straight.

In the first two games Sherry had no answer to Mather's all court game and it was only in the third that Sherry was able to make his presence felt.

Daniel Strybis playing from number three seeding upset second seed Darryl Moscatt also in three. This was a much closer match and while Strybis played some nervous looking squash in the first game he finally managed to claim it at 10-9 and with the first one under his belt was able to play more confidently to power home 9-7, 9-3.

Second division top seed Matt Donoghue progressed to next week's big one when he downed Gloria Smith 9-3 in the fifth.

Donoghue will play Damien Keen who played possibly his best squash to date to down Ian Kemp 9-4 in the fourth.

Kemp must have left his drop shot at home as it certainly wasn't working in this match.

If Keen can reproduce his effort next week he must be in with a chance.
