She would need to win or run a bold race in the Easter Saturday Raceday On April 4 Handicap over 1257m to be a chance in the Port race over 1200m on Friday, February 13.
Trainer Ross Stitt has been happy with her progress and reckons "she is due" to win.
After Tuesday, he will freshen her up for the big country race.
Shazza's Bubbles has always been well thought of by Stitt and had her first two runs from a spell for an eighth at Canterbury and then a fourth behind Bella Galeano over 1400m at Warwick Farm on January 7.
He said she was unlucky at her first run in the city but was given every chance at her most recent run.
On the last occasion Australia's most winning jockey Robert Thompson made a special trip to town to ride her and takes the mount again.
The mare should be primed to run a big race, one that boasts some good country form.
Interesting runner is Wyong five-year-old mare Magna Amica, trained by Tracey Bartley, it having its second run back from a spell after a solid third (2.5 lengths) at Canterbury and it has won second up.
Port Macquarie seven-year-old mare Juste Si, trained by John Sprague, was third to Pesaro in a close and unlucky finish here two starts back and then filled the same placing behind Rigamarole over 1450m at Kempsey.
It only needs even luck to be in the finish from its wide barrier.
Coffs Harbour four-year-old gelding Murvate, trained by Brett Dodson, scored on its home track last start, Broadmeadow's Source Of Harmony has won here and is capable after a good third over 1200m at Gosford on December 31 and local Sprite Zah has a good record on this track for trainer Matthew Robinson and was second to Youwaitandsee over 1206m at Port when resuming from a spell.
Query runner is newcomer to the Port stable of Neil Godbolt in six-year-old gelding Cape Clear which did most of its early racing in town, two starts back being second to Hirad over 1400m at Hawkesbury on November 21.
Coffs Harbour trainer Anthony Honess scratched four-year-old mare Lizard's Lover from Warwick Farm on Friday to keep her for the Can Assist Fund Raising on April 4 Handicap over 2018m where she may be better suited.
She meets a handy bunch of promising gallopers, most notably last start winners, Cessnock's Shehadtohavehim and Coffs Harbour four-year-old mare Just Atina, and Broadmeadow's Pinot Gris.
It is the latter, trained by Kris Lees and to be ridden by in-form country jockey Andrew Gibbons, which may prove the hardest to beat.
The four-year-old gelding has been running good races in provincial company around the distance and will find this race a little easier.
It was second over 2000m at Hawkesbury on December 14,then sixth over 2000m at Kembla Grange before a good finishing third over 1750m at Muswellbrook on January 15.
Four-year-old gelding Shehadtohavehim, trained by Jeremy Sylvester, is unknown at the distance but jockey Thompson, has stuck for two wins, one at Taree and another at Scone, in its past three starts over 1600m.
The galloper runs handy and is winning with something in hand to suggest the step-up in distance could suit.
Just Atina, trained by Brett Dodson, is considered a future country cups galloper by the trainer and has won its past two races at Kempsey and this track, both over the distance.
It took up an unusual pacemaker's role early in the last Taree run, was given a nice trail, and then finished well for a half-length win from three-year-old Taree gelding Zigbee, trained at Taree by Bindi Cheers, that galloper again being a rival and also on the improve.
Lizard's Lover was obviously showing much improvement for Honess to think of tackling a city race but no doubt the prospect of a heavy track deterred him in favour of Taree which should be better placed track-wise.
The mare was only a length away from Kempsey gelding and rival again,Brasileiro Macho, trained on that track by Julie Lynch, the winner then possibly not suited by the sprint home when fourth to Just Atina at Taree's last meeting.
It should be one heck of a race!
