Around 7500 people turned up to celebrate the arrival of 2007 at Taree with another 10,000 enjoying the music and fireworks at Forster.
Both celebrations went extremely well, organisers said, with well behaved crowds of all ages enjoying themselves.
Police had no incidents to report at Taree, however, five people were arrested for alcohol-related offences at Forster during the night.
Meanwhile John Gollan Day at Harrington on New Year’s Day was a smashing success with a crowd estimated at 10,000 making their way to the annual celebration at John Wright Park. Cars lined the streets for hundreds of metres as people took advantage of the pleasant weather.
The Times photographers were busy covering events at Taree and Harrington.
