For the past few months, the class has taken the form of popular television show Games of Thrones.
The class was split into four houses, where they competed for the 'velvet throne', by achieving points through class participation, attendance and creativity.
The class's structure was devised through a process called 'gamification'.
"The classroom gamification project aims to motivate learners to complete a qualification," class teacher Natalie Denmeade said.
Based on studies from the University of Bristol, the 'gamification' process shows that people pay more attention when there is risk and chance involved.
The process involves making all aspects of the class interactive and rewarding. For example to learn safety and sustainability in the class room, badges could be achieved by students.
"It's fun, innovative, and help students to recognise personal achievements," student Sarah Sherry said.
To announce the winners of the 'velvet throne', the class finished with its digital media showcase on November 20.
The winning team was the 'Nomadics'. Though, after a year spent learning to make games, design web sites, take photos and use digital media to create stories, the whole class seemed victorious.
